Breitling Navitimer

The Navitimer is the Breitling, the watch the whole brand is measured against. Launched in 1952 for pilots, its party trick is the circular slide rule ringing the dial, a working analog calculator you rotate to do flight math: fuel burn, airspeed, distance, conversions. Almost nobody uses it for that anymore, but it's the busiest, most unmistakable bezel in watches, and it's why the Navitimer reads like a cockpit instrument on the wrist. Underneath sits a proper chronograph, now with Breitling's in-house movement. It comes in a range of sizes and dials, but the identity never changes. Across a room, it's the one Breitling people recognize before they can read the dial. And like much of the modern lineup, it tends to sell well under retail pre-owned, which puts the icon within easier reach than you'd expect.
