Rolex Daytona

If there's one Rolex that became a status object in its own right, it's this one. The Daytona is the brand's racing chronograph, born to time laps and named after the Florida speedway, with three subdials and a tachymeter bezel for clocking speed. It's also the hardest Rolex to actually buy: steel versions carry waitlists at the boutique and real premiums the second they hit the resale market. Collectors lose their minds over the white "Panda" dial and the vintage "Paul Newman" examples especially. Fair warning, wanting one is easy, getting one is the expensive part.
